The repository at svn://svn.debian.org/pkg-cyrus-sasl2 has been up for a
while, and there is work done there already. Earlier this month I sent
an update to this list, outlining what I've done so far and what I think
the next steps are.

I think alioth has been pretty stable lately, so I don't see a pressing
need to use another SVN repository host, but we'll of course keep
options open if things should change.

Right now, though, everyone is encouraged to check out the stuff in the
current repository and work on the package!
