Basically, if you want to fix things quickly, work on the old package.
The new package will take some time to get to a state where it can
replace the old one. In the best case, it will be included in etch.

Great! I added you to the alioth project. It will take some time (I
think?) for permissions to propagate. Take a look the list archives
