There is also the whole MPICH/Scalapack interaction...

'apt-cache search mpich' shows quite a few things; and 'apt-cache rdepends'
on some of the shared library packages is inconclusive, but
	$ apt-cache rdepends mpich-bi
reveals quite a few. Ick.

| Anyway, I'm not quite sure in what way it affects us. Adam, the MPICH

| MPICH, but I think it may be quite a few. We're the ones who provide an

| action we should take, like inviting Adam to join us or taking care of
| MPICH?

I think I already did, informally, a few months ago. AFAIK he switch from
being an academic to running a startup, so he kindly reject additional Debian
tasks.

| Or should we just wait for all MPICH-relying packages to switch
| and help with transition problems?

Probably the right thing to do but also a lot of work. Not sure I can help
with much either -- the packages I care about do run with Open MPI so there
is just not that much of an itch to scratch...

| I'm looking forward to hear your opinion on that.
